THOU, Lord Jesu, wert tempted like as I

am, yet without sin, Oh! help me now in the fiery trial. Fight Thou for me, O my God. Have pity on my frail heart.

MERCIFUL God, grant to me always constancy in my faith, and stedfastness in Thy love, that I may abide with Thee through all temptations, and so endure unto the end, that I may be saved for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

AN INTERCESSORY PRAYER, WHICH MAY BE SAID ON PASSING ANY ONE, OR, WHEN IN COMPANY, FOR ALL PRESENT.

BLESS, O heavenly Father, this Thy ser

vant (or these Thy servants) with Thy grace and peace. Teach us to love one another, for Thy sake, as Thou hast loved us. Teach us, O Jesu, to give up, one to another, as Thou didst give up even Thy own life for us. When we lie down in our graves, may we rest together in Thee. When we rise together, to stand face to face before Thee in the Judgment, have mercy on us, O Lord, and save both me and her, (or them).

A SHORT PRAYER THAT MAY BE SAID

FREQUENTLY.

BLESSED Jesu, grant us the gift of Thỵ holy love, the pardon of all our sins, and grace to persevere unto the end. Amen. Likewise the following verses.

I have gone astray, like a sheep that was lost, O seek me, blessed Jesus, for Thou didst come to seek and to save that which was lost. I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

Cleanse Thou me from my secret faults, and keep me from presumptuous sins.

ASPIRATIONS AFTER A HOLY AND HAPPY
DEATH.

May I die the death of the righteous, and may my last end be like his.

Oh! make me ready for Thy appearing; and then come, even so come, Lord Jesus. May I at last rest in peace, in Thee, O my Lord, and arise to a blessed resurrection. "To die is gain." Grant, Lord, that I may so live, that to die may be indeed

gain to me.

Early Morning Prayer.

Let all kneel in silence, and each pray privately for a short space.

Then all standing, the Reader shall say, and the rest answer, as follows.

IN the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Blessed be the Holy and undivided Trinity, now, henceforth, and for ever.

Our help is in the name of the Lord;
Who hath made heaven and earth.
Blessed be the name of the Lord;
Henceforth, world without end.

O Lord, our Governour, how excellent is Thy Name in all the world.

Thou that hast set Thy glory above the heavens.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honour, and power.

For Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are, and were created.

Thou, that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come.

Our misdeeds prevail against us, O be Thou merciful unto our sins.

Then shall the Reader say,

Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God.

Then all devoutly kneeling.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.

LORD, we, miserable sinners, most humbly draw near unto Thee, remembering our many and grievous offences. We confess to Thee that we have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed. That all the sins, offences, and neglects of the days already gone be freely pardoned, and entirely done away, through the precious blood of Thy dear Son,

Grant, O good Lord.

Blot out, O Lord, our transgressions, and as a thick cloud our sins. Amen.

On Fridays only shall be added,

Blessed be Thou, my God and my Saviour, for the holy and bitter sufferings of this day.

May that precious blood, as on this day shed, cleanse us from all our sins. Amen, Amen.

THE Almighty and merciful God grant unto us pardon, and remission of all our sins, and bring us safe to life everlasting. Amen.

If a Priest be present, he shall then say, THE Almighty and merciful God, who hath given His Son Jesus Christ, to be the sacrifice and propitiation for the sins of the whole world, grant to you pardon, absolution, and remission of all your sins. Amen.

OUR Father, which art in heaven, &c. MOST gracious God, we render Thee all

glory and praise for the rest which Thou hast mercifully given to us this night, and now that Thou hast added to the number of our days, that this and every day may be
