This very curious edition is described at length in the new Edition of Ames by Dibdin, vol. III. p. 7, 9. Only two copies appear to be known. One in the Bodleian (Mr. Douce's), which is described as defective in the Title Page and in a few lines of the Table, and the present, which is in most beautiful condition and quite complete and ruled throughout. Some of the verses in the Calendar are very curious.

signatures a-v. Eight preliminary leaves Collation. Eighty-one leaves unpaged, containing the Title and two Dedications. At the end is a very curious Map of Brazil. The acquisition of this very curious volume enables us to call attention to another Edition improperly catalogued under Homberg page 333, with the omission of the second part.

This is a most interesting account of a wild, naked, savage race of Cannibals and of the manners and customs of Tuppin Inbas, whose prisoner Hans Staden became and remained there many years till relieved by a French vessel.

This original Edition is so rare that Camus could neither procure it, nor learn where it was printed. The account is considered so authentic and interesting Germany. that a new Edition of it is preparing in
