"This rare book appears not to have been seen by Ames or Herbert as it is not under the list of Barley's Books, vol. II. 1277, though the title is mentioned in vol. III. 1721. In Oldys's Life of Raleigh p. 65. note c. it appears that Sir W. Raleigh is the Gentleman' to whom this account is addressed. The last leaf contains only a wood cut of Two Ships." MS. note.

Sir E. Brydges in his Censura, like many others, attributes this work to the printer chiefly on account of the dedication, but Anstis in his Register of the Garter, II. 399, asserts the claim of Segar the Herald to this work as well as to that of Honor
