Scarcely any two copies of this rare book entirely agree in their contents.

"With the table, this satire is very rare. The best account of this libel is to be found in Strype's Life of Parker, II. p. 415. Herbert's Ames 1635 refers to Wood's Athenæ. Hearne assigns the Latin lives named in the title page to J. Josselin, Chaplain to the Abp. and a good Saxon scholar. In the appendix to Ducarel's Norman Coins in a letter to Sir T. Heneage of 1590, this Abp. is called the first founder of the Antiquarian Society: he was the second Protestant Abp., and died 1575." MS. note.

A conference about the next succession to the Crowne of Ingland. Whereunto is also added a new and perfect arbor or genealogie of the discents of all the kinges and princes of Ingland, from the conquest unto this day, whereby each mans pretence is made more plaine. Published by R. Doleman. Imprinted at N. With Geneawith Licence, 1594. logical Table. 8vo.

Wood, Athenæ Oxon., says that this book was written by Parsons the Jesuit, that the printer of it was hanged, drawn and quartered, and a law passed to make it High Treason for any man to have it in his possession.

Herbert's Ames, III. p. 1726, contradicts this last assertion; he says also that a MS. note in his copy describes the book as written by Cardinal Allen, Sir F. Englefield and Father Parsons.

The Genealogical Plate is very rarely to be found in the few copies now remaining of this book.
