God's Presence.

These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah xlii. 16.

Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands; thy walls are continually before Me. Ísaiah xlix. 14-16.

O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of Me.
Isaiah xliv. 21.

As I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

Isa. liv. 9, 10.

I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me. Jer. xxxii. 40. The Lord will not cast off for ever. But though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion, according to the multitude of His mercies.

Lam. iii. 31, 32.

I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Heb. xiii. 5.

XVIII.-Promises of Christ.

Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah ix. 6.

I, the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee; and will give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles. Isaiah xlii. 6. Behold, I have given Him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Isaiah lv. 4.

But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall. Mal. iv, 2.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John iii. 16. All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

John vi. 37. Cant. ii. 16. I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

My Beloved is mine, and I am His.

Ezek. xxxiv. 23.

Of all Grace from Christ.-Of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John i. 16, 17.

Surely, shall one say, In the Lord have I righteousness and strength. Isa. xlv. 24.

The fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

Eph. i. 23.

Of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Cor. i. 30.

Redemption by Christ.

Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. Acts v. 31.

Of Redemption by Christ.-Ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. I Pet. i. 18, 19.

To open the blind eyes; and to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house. Isa. xlii. 7.

That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth ! to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves!

Isa. xlix. 9.

The Son of man came-to give His life a ransom for many. Mark x. 45. In whom we have redemption, through His blood, the forgiveness of sin, according to the riches of His grace. Eph. i. 7. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. Gal. iii. 13.

In the fulness of time, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Gal. iv. 4, 5.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause He is the Mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first Testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Heb. ix. 14, 15.

Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.

Eph. v. 2. I Cor. v. 7. Thou wast slain and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood. Rev. v. 9.

Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.

Life from Him.-As the Father raiseth up the dead and quickeneth them, even so the Son quickeneth whom He will. John v. 21.

He that eateth Me, even he shall live by Me.

John vi. 57. John xiv. 19. weakness, yet For we also are with Him by the 2 Cor. xiii. 4.

Because I live, ye shall live also. Though He was crucified through He liveth by the power of God. weak in Him, but we shall live power of God toward you.

I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

Gal. ii. 20.

You hath He quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins; even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved), and hath raised us up together--in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. ii. 1, 5, 6. believe that we shall

If we be dead with Christ, we also live with Him. Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. vi. 8, II.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

Col. iii. 3, 4.

Christ's Entercession and Love.

He that hath the Son hath life.

I John v. 12.

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John x. 10.

The promise of life which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Tim. i. I.

His Intercession.-He made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah liii. 12.

It is Christ-who also maketh intercession for us. Rom. viii. 34.

Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Heb. vii. 25.

Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Heb. ix. 24.

Seeing then that we have a great High-priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a highpriest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. iv. 14-16.

His Love.-As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you continue ye in My love. John xv. 9. Having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end. A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John xiii. 1, 34

In all these things we are more than conquerors

through Him that loved us.
