But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely,

and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour. Isaiah xliii. 2, 3.

I, the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment; lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day. Isaiah xxvii. 3.

For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her. Zech. ii. 5.

VI.-Promises of Peace.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down and none shall make you afraid, and I will rid evil beasts out of the land; neither shall the sword go through your land. Lev. xxvi. 6.

The Lord will give strength unto His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace. Ps. xxix. II. Peace shall be upon Israel. Psalm cxxv. 5.

Great peace have they which love Thy law, and nothing shall offend them.

He maketh peace in thy borders.

Psalm cxix. 165.

Psa. cxlvii. 14.

Lord, Thou wilt ordain peace for also hast wrought all our works in us. Isa. xxvi. 12.

My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Isa. xxxii. 18.

Direction.-Honour.

VII.-Direction.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in His way. Psalm xxxvii. 23. He will be our guide even unto death.

Psalm xlviii. 14.

Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterwards receive me to glory. Psalm lxxiii. 24.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Prov. iii. 6. The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his Prov. xi. 5.

way.

A man's heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps. Prov. xvi. 9. His God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him. Isa. xxviii. 26.

And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not, I will lead them in paths they have not known; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isa. xlii. 16.

VIII.-Honour.

And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them. Deut. xxviii. 13.

Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. His horn shall Psalm cxii. 6, 9.

be exalted with honour.

Them that honour Me I will honour.

1 Sam. ii. 30.

By humility and the fear of the Lord, are riches, and honour, and life.

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

The memory of the just is blessed.

The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Prov. xiv. 19.

Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him : I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. Ps. xci. 14, 15.

If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour.

John xii. 26. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Rev. iii. 9.

IX.-Success and Prosperity.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm. i. 3.

Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Psalm xxxvii. 5.

Thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Psalm cxxviii. 2.

Plenty and Riches.

I will cry unto God most high, unto God, that performeth all things for me. Psalm lvii. 2.

And they shall build houses and inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat. For as the days of a tree are the days of My people, and Mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble, for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. Isa. lxv. 21-23.

And

Thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear. thine age shall be clearer than the noon-day, thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

Job xi. 15, 17. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and the light shall shine upon thy ways. Job xxii. 28.

X.-Plenty and Riches.

I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn and thy wine and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full. Deut. xi. 14, 15.

The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand. And thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. Deut. xxviii. 12.

Riches and honour are with me, yea durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold, and my revenue than choice silver. Prov. viii. 18, 19.

And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land for good; for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as He rejoiced over thy fathers (Deut. xxviii. II). Deut. xxx. 9.

Thou shalt lay up gold as dust, Ophir as the stones of the brooks. have plenty of silver.

and the gold of And thou shalt Job xxii. 24, 25.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and He suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Wealth and riches shall be in his righteousness endureth for ever.

XI.-Of Children.

He will love thee, and bless thee and multiply thee; He will also bless the fruit of thy womb.

Deut. vii. 13.

Lo! children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows in the hands of a mighty man, so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them, they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Psalm cxxvii. 3-5.
