SCHIN.

161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.

162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

164 Seven times a day do I praise thee: because of thy righteous judgments.

165 Great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them. 166 Lord, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.

167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies ; and I love them exceedingly.

168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies for all my ways are before thee.

TAU.

169 Let my cry come near before thee, O Lord: give me understanding according to thy word.

170 Let my supplication come before thee deliver me according to thy word. 171 My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.

172 My tongue shall speak of thy word:

for all thy commandments are righteous

ness,

173 Let thine hand help me : for I have chosen thy precepts.

174 I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delight.

175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me:

176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep: seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.

MORNING PRAYER.

PSALM CXX.

IN my distress I cried unto the Lord,

and he heard me.

2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given unto thee, or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue ?

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 Woe is me that I sojourn in Mesech that I dwell in the

tents of Kedar!

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him. that hateth peace.

7 I am for peace: but, when I speak, they are for war.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper; the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in, from this time forth, and even for evermore.

PSALM CXXII.

WAS glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Lord.

5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

NTO thee lift I mine up that dwellest in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon

3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

PSALM CXXIV.

F it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us; 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us; 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5 Then the proud waters had gone over your soul.

6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, made heaven and earth.
