[In the initial on page 1, in the border of f. 5 and on the fore-edges are the arms argent, between three bunches of grapes proper a chevron gules, and on f. I and the top and bottom edges are the initials I. V. The book was no doubt written for a member of the Des Vignes family. At the beginning and end are signatures of V. Budé, accompanied by mottoes.]
