WERE we to suffer the completion of another
volume of our Magazine, without expressing our thanks and gratitude, for the increased encouragement it has met with, we might perhaps be thought unmindo ful of the partiality of our friends; though we trust; those friends will have perceived a proportionate liberality on our side, by the additional letter-press given in several numbers, and especially in the last, over the quantity proposed. The same observation may be made with respect to the engravings, of which only two numbers since the commencement of the new series have been without that embellishment, although it was stipu. lated with the Public, in our Prospectus, that they would only occasionally be given.
It is hoped, that it will not be thought arrogant, if we observe, that the style and quality of our Correspondence are of a superior order, to what they were in the earlier part of our career, and at the same time we can assure those well meaning contributors whose favours
