GRAND COUNCIL OF HIGH-PRIESTHOOD.

FLINT, January 17, A. Beo. 3793, A.D. 1881.

The Twenty-second Annual Convocation of the Grand Council of High-Priesthood of the State and Jurisdiction of Michigan, was held at Masonic Hall agreeably to previous notice.

Council opened in ample form.

On motion the reading of the minutes of the last annual

session was dispensed with, they being printed and in the hands of the members.

PETITIONS.

The petitions of Companions Edward C. Smith, Oakland Chapter No. 5; C. H. Cossitt, Owosso Chapter No. 89; Geo. E. Hubbard, Corinthian Chapter No. 84; W. H. Ransom, Jonesville Chapter No. 8; Geo. Card, Hillsdale Chapter No. 18; D. C. Dixon, Joppa Chapter No. 63; W. G. Doty, Washtenaw Chapter No. 6; H. E. Whitney, Evart Chapter No. 97; W. H. Faulkner, Lafayette Chapter No. 4; E. Robinson, Albion Chapter No. 32; C. Waterbury, Ionia Chapter No. 14; C. D. Blanchard, Marquette Chapter No. 43; C. C. Draper, Prairie Ronde Chapter No. 54, accompanied with the usual fees, were received, read and referred to a committee consisting of Companions Mitchell, Dockry and Coon.

The Committee after due deliberation reported favorably. The ballots were then spread respectively, found clear, and they were declared elected.

The Grand Treasurer and Grand Rocorder submitted their annual reports, which were referred to the Finance Committee, consisting of Companions Blosser, White and Phillips.

The candidates were then introduced, set apart, and solemnly consecrated to the office of High-Priesthood in ample form.

The Finance Committee submitted their report, which was adopted.

Your Committee have carefully examined the accounts of the Grand Recorder and Grand Treasurer, and find them correct.

Committee.

The Grand Chaplain offered the following preamble and resolution, which were accepted and adopted:

WHEREAS, The Grand Recorder, on behalf of the committee appointed at the last Annual Session to procure a set of jewels for the several officers of this Council, has reported by presenting to the Grand Council a Jewel with appropriate design for each officer thereof at the present session; therefore,

Resolved, That the thanks of this Grand Council be tendered to the Grand Recorder for the taste displayed in selecting the design for the said jewels, and the faithfulness in which he has discharged this delicate trust.

Companions McCurdy and Mitchell were appointed a committee to ask the Grand Chapter to publish the proceedings of the present session without charge.

On motion and by unanimous vote, Article II. of the Constitution was amended by adding after the word "Steward" the words "and Sentinel."

ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

On motion the Grand Council proceeded to the election of officers for the ensuing year. Companions Robinson and Card were the tellers. The following was the result:
