To the M. E. Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Michigan:

Your Committee on Masonic Jurisprudence, to whom was referred the decisions of the Grand High Priest, beg leave to report :

That we have examined with care the several decisions, and found them to be in uniformity with the Constitution and Edicts of this Grand Body and recommend that the decisions be adopted and approved.

Your committee also report that Section 2, of Article 11, of the Constitution, is not correctly printed in the Proceedings of last year, in this as it now reads it requires a ballot for each degree, whereas it ought to read as the old Constitution did, requiring but one ballot for all the Degrees.

Your Committee therefore recommend that the Grand Secretary be instructed to send out with each copy of the Proceedings of this year a correot copy of this section, with an explanatory note where to make this correction.

Respectfully submitted.

HUGH MCCURDY, P. G. H. P.,
WM. L. WEBBER, P. G. H. P.,

REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON CHARTERS AND DISPENSA

TIONS.

Comp. P. G. H. P. SHOEMAKER, for the Committee on Charters and Dispensations, submitted the following report, which, on motion, was accepted and adopted:

To the M. E. Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of the State of Michigan:

The Committee on Charters and Dispensations, to whom was referred so much of the address of the M. E. Grand High Priest as refers to the granting of a dispensation for a Chapter at Petoskey, would respectfully report that they have examined the papers connected with the dispensation, and find them regular and correct. They have also examined the books of the Chapter and find they have done work worthy of commendation.

The location of the Chapter is so remote from that of any other as to give them a proper field for work.

Your Committee would therefore respectfully recommend that a Charter be granted, to the Companions acting under dispensation, for a Chapter at Petoskey, to be known as Emmet Chapter, No. 104.

Respectfully submitted,

M. SHOEMAKER, P. G. H. P.,
F. G. LEE,

Resolved, That the Committee to recommend a place for the next annual convocation of this Grand Chapter, be instructed to report the names of three places-each easy of access by rail, and with ample hotel accommodations-from which this Grand Body may select a place for the next annual meeting.

MAJORITY REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MASONIC RECORD.

Comp. RUTHERFORD, on behalf of the majority of the Committee to whom was referred the resolution of Comp. BLADES relative to a Masonic Record book, presented the following report, which was accepted. Upon further motion to adopt, the same was laid upon the table:

To the M. E. Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the State of Michigan:

Your special committee appointed upon the resolution of Comp. BLADES, respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and given it such attention as our limited time would admit of.

We find a great diversity of opinion among the Companions; while a majority seem to be in favor of a resolution of this kind, hardly two agree upon any method by which it can be carried out.

Much can be said for and against, and while we believe that the spirit of the resolution should, if practicable, be adopted, we have, as yet, been unable to recommend to this Grand Body any plan.

Your Committee therefore recommend that the whole matter be placed in the hands of another committee, with instructions to report thereon at the next annual convocation of this Grand Chapter.

Respectfully submitted.

L. G. RUTHERFORD,
CHESTER SMITH,

Committee.
