We regret exceedingly to report that Nos. 17, 44, 48, 71 and 94 have apparently lain dormant during the interim of Grand Chapter, they reporting no work done whatever. The High Priests should be labored with, and an effort made to infuse new life into each of these Chapters. We are pleased to learn from the Grand Secretary that the major portion of the Subordinates complied with his request and forwarded their returns prior to January 10th. Had they all been received it would have enabled the Grand Secretary to have closed his books before the convocation, and thus assisted the Finance Committee considerable in their labors. We feel that it is only necessary to call the attention of High Priests to this matter, to have it carefully and efficiently complied with. All of which is respectfully submitted. WM. Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Michigan: COMPANIONS:-The year is past and gone; new duties are upon us. At this time it becomes my duty and pleasure to submit a synopsis of my doings as your Grand Secretary. PROCEEDINGS. The proceedings of our last annual Convocation were printed and distributed in April last, and not hearing to the contrary, I have reason to believe the distribution was efficiently made. GENERAL GRAND CHAPTER DUES. The Grand Dues to General Grand Chapter were forwarded in due time to General Grand Secretary Fox, and the receipt thereof duly acknowledged. THANKS. I again return my thanks to the High Priests and Secretaries of Subordinate Chapters for their prompt attention to correspondence, and their cheerfulness in assisting me when called upon on matters pertaining to the Royal Craft. INCREASE OF WORK. From the returns made by Subordinate Chapters, I rejoice to be able to report a steady increase of work the past year. |
