BOOK XIII.

ARGUMENT.

Neptune, in pity to the Greeks, despises

The Thunderer's ban, and mingles in the fray;

But Hector stands; far spreads the blazing battle;

Swords gleam, spears flash, shields clash, and helmets rattle.
