Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterwards receive me to glory.Psalm lxxiii. 24.

"Be thou my Counsellor,

My Pattern and my Guide;
And through this desert land
Still keep me near thy side;

O let my feet ne'er run astray,

Nor rove, nor seek the crooked way."-Hyn. 641. February 14th.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.-Hebrews xii. 2.

February 15th.

The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.— Prov. xv. 2.

"Lord if I now thy drawings feel, And ask according to thy will, Confirm the prayer, the seal impart,

And speak the answer to my heart."-Hymn 17.

February 16th.

And brought them out, and said Sirs, what must I do to be saved?-Acts. xvi. 30.

"Extort the cry, "What must be done

To save a wretch like me?

How shall a trembling sinner shun
That endless misery?"-Hymn 83.

February 17th.

And they said, Believe on the Lord

Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.—Acts xvi. 31.

"Believe in him that died for thee,
And sure as he hath died,

Thy debt is paid, thy soul is free,
And thou art justified."-Hymn 36.

February 18th.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.-Isa. xli. 10.

"Give to the winds thy fears;
Hope, and be undismayed;

God hears thy sighs, and counts thy tears,
God shall lift up thy head."-Hymn 674.

February 19th.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. -1 John iv. 16.

"See sinners in the gospel glass,

The friend and Saviour of mankind,

Not one of all the' apostate race
But may in him salvation find!

His thoughts, and words, and actions prove, His life and death,-that God is love."

February 20th.

Hymn 31.

I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.-2 Sam. xxii. 4.

"Give me on thee to call,

Always to watch and pray,
Lest I into temptation fall

And cast my shield away."-Hymn 305.
February 21st.

The Lord preserveth all them that love him.-Psalm clxv. 20.

"My soul to thee alone

Now therefore I commend;

Thou, Jesus, love me as thy own.

And love me to the end."-Hymn 305.

February 22nd.

If we suffer, we shall also reign with

him.-2 Tim. ii. 12.

"Thy every suffering servant, Lord,
Shall as his perfect master be;
To all thy inward life restor❜d,
And outwardly conform'd to thee,
Out of thy grave the saint shall rise,

And grasp, through death the glorious prize."

February 23rd.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.-1 Peter, 24-5.

"Let sickness, blast, and death devour,
If heaven must recompense our pains:
Perish the grass, and fade the flower,
If firm the word of God remains."-Hymn 46.

February 24th.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom. xii. 1.
