Twenty-Third Annual Meeting

JANUARY, 31, 1899.

The twenty-third annual meeting of the Livingston County Historical Society was held at the Log Cabin in Geneseo, the 31st day of January, 1899, at 11 o'clock a. m., President S. Edward Hitchcock, presiding. The President addressed the meeting.

The report of the Secretary and Treasurer was received and read, and on motion the portions thereof relating to the finances of the Society was referred to the Finance Committee.

Report of Secretary and Treasurer.

I regret that the pamphlets containing the proceedings of the last annual meeting have not yet been published; they will be ready for distribution probably within two weeks. The material for the Big Tree Treaty Book is now in the hands of the printer and its appearance may very soon be expected. I desire to urge the Society to adopt an amendment to the constitution at this meeting, changing the time of the annual meetings to some milder season of the year. I think it must be very apparent that the present arrangement is the very worst that could be adopted to secure a good attendance.

The financial statement for the year is as follows:

Stevens, Bacon & Co., supplies for cabin.

J. D. Lewis, picture frames, cleaning cabin and
