And in Jefus Christ his only begotten Son our Lord? And that he was conceived by the Holy Ghoft; born of the Virgin Mary; that he fuffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; that he went down into hell, and alfo did rife again the third day; that he afcended into heaven, and fitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; and from thence fhall come again at the end of the world, to judge the quick and the dead?

The fick perfon fhall answer, All this I ftedfaftly believe. Then fhall the Minifter examine whether he repent him truly of his fins, and be in charity with all the world; exhorting him to forgive from the bottom of his heart all perfons that have offended him, and if he hath offended any other, to ask them forgiveness; and where he hath done injury

These words before rehearsed, may be faid before the Minifter begin his Prayer, as he fall fee caufe.

The Minister should not omit earnestly to move fuch fick perfons as are of ability, to be liberal to the poor.

Here fhali the fick perfon be moved to make a Special Confeffion of his fins, if he feel his Confcience troubled with any weighty matter. After which Confeffion, the Priest shall Abfolve him (if he humbly and heartily defire it) after this fort.

UrLord Jefus Chrift, who

Church to abfolve all finners who truly repent and believe in him, of his great mercy forgive thee thine offences: And by his Authority committed to me, I abfolve thec from all thy fins, In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoft. Amen.

And then the Priest shall fay the Collet following.

Let us pray. according to the multitude Moft merciful God, who

Caft me not away in the time of age: forfake me not when my ftrength faileth me.

For mine enemies speak againft me, and they that lay wait for my foul, take their counfel together, faying: God hath forfaken him, perfecute him, and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

Then hall the Minifter fay this Pfalm.

In te, Domine, fperavi. Pfal. 71. N' thee, O Lord, have I put I my truff, let me never be put to confufion but rid me, and deliver me in thy righteoufnefs; incline thine ear unto me, and fave me.

Be thou my ftrong hold, whereunto I may alway refort: thou haft promised to help me, for thou art my houfe of defence, and my caftle.

Let them be confounded and perish, that are against my foul: let them be covered with fhame and difhonour, that seek to do me evil.

As for me, I will patiently abide alway: and will praise thec more and more.

My mouth fhall daily speak of thy righteoufnefs and falvation: for I know no end thereof.

I will go forth in the ftrength of the Lord God: and will make mention of thy righte oufness only.

Thou, O God, haft taught me from my youth up until now: therefore will I tell of thy wondrous works.

The Communion of the SICK,

Forafmuch as all mortal menbe subject to many fudden perils, difeafes, and fickneffes, and ever uncertain what time they Thall depart out of this life; therefore to the intent they may be alwaysin a readiness to die,whenfoever it shall please Almighty God to call them, the Curates shall diligently from time to time

But if the fick perfon be not able to come to the Church, and yet is defirous to receive the Communion in his house, then he must give timely notice to the Curate, fignifying also how many there are to Communicate with him (which shall be three, or two at the leaft) and having a convenient place in the fick mansh use, with all things neceffary fo prepared, that the Curate may reverently minifter, he shall there celebrate the holy Communion, beginning with the Collect, Epistle, and Gospel, here following. At the time of the distribution of the holy Sacrament, the Priest fhall first receive the Communion himself, and after minifter unto them that are appointed to Communicate with the fick, and laft of all to the fick perfon.

But if a man, either by reafon of extremity of fickness, or for want of warning in due time to the Curate, or for lack of com pany to receive with him, or by any other juft Impediment, do not receive the Sacrament of Chrifts Body and Blood, the Curate fhall inftruct him, that if he do truly repent him of his fins, and ftedfaftly believe that Jefus Chrift hath fuffered death upon the Crofs for him, and shed his Blood for his redemption, earneftly remembring the benefits he hath thereby, and giving him hearty thanks therefore, he doth eat and drink the Body and Blood of our Saviour Chrift profitably to his fouls health, -although
