The foregoing Exhortation and Examination need not be repeated every day, but only so often as the Priest shall see convenient. Sickness. San&ify, we beseech thee, this thy fatherly corre&ion to bim; that the sense of his weakness may add strength to his faith, and seriousness, to bis repentance. That if it Mall be thy good pleasure to restore bim to bis former health, be may lead the residue of his life in thy fear and to thy glory; or else give bim grace so to take thy visitation, that after this painful life endcd, he may dwell with thee in life cyerlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Then the Priest shall fand up, and laying his band upon the fack person's head, he Mall
absolve him (if be humbly and heartily desire it) after this fort. And the same form of Absolution shall be used in all private Confeffions.
$ If the fick person is vifited constantly, Absolution
is to be repeated no oftner, "than as the Poteft fall fee just cause ; and when it is omitted, the Priest jhall then proceed directly to the Collect,
which is next after this Absolution. OUR Lord Jesus Christ, who hath left power
to his Church to absolve, all Sinners who truly repeat and believe in him ôf bis great mercy forgive thee thine offences: And by his Authority committed to me, I 'absolve thee from all thy sins: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
The Priest may use either the foregoing form of Absolution, or else that which is in the Office for nbe Holy Communion, 'according to his discretion.
