[A most important and interesting English manuscript, chiefly in the vernacular. The poem on Hawking (fol. 125-134a) occupies 19 pp. The Book of Hunting preceded by a Table follows, occupying 89 pp. (fol. 134b-178). The prologue is addressed to my worshypfulle and drede lorde... eldest son and eyre vnto the hye excellent and cristen prince H. the IIII. . . .” The text begins on fol. 138b. The Treatise on Astronomy_occupies 20 pp. (fol. 103-112), beginning on fol. 103a. Latin recipes for diseases of horses, fol. 32-49, and English recipes for the same, fol. 50-55. An English treatise on cooking fills 42 pp. (fol. 56-76). The work of cooking ends on fol. 76b, and is immediately followed by an English treatise of 45 pp. (fol. 76b-99a) on the virtue of herbs in medicine. The beginning of the manuscript (fol. 1-14) is taken up by Latin stories like the Gesta Romanorum. Some English and Latin medical recipes and English recipes for wine and cooking are found at fol. 14 and 122-4. On fol. 16 a Latin treatise begins on the manner of holding Parliament. A Latin poem on the Exchequer in 126 hexameter verses occupies 6 pp. (fol. 29-31), the top and bottom of four of the pages decorated with a chequer board.
