[The original edition of "The Lover's Tale" was published in 1833, foolscap 8vo., pp. 60. It was practically suppressed before publication, and though a few copies were given away at the time to friends, only two now appear to be known. One of these was sold at Sotheby's about 25 years ago for £4, and another copy (imperfect, but with many corrections in Lord Tennyson's handwriting) is in the library of the late Mr. Locker Lampson. See Slater's "Early Editions," 1894, page 308, where there is a long note on this subject, the substance of which was furnished by Mr. Locker.-ED.]
