[Demy 8vo., published at 42s., with 36 highly-coloured plates by Alken. The book collates as follows: Coloured frontispiece, coloured title, plain title, preface (iii.-vi.), contents with list of illustrations on the reverse, and text pp. 1-402. Why several illustrations are invariably found cut round and mounted is a matter of conjecture. This book has doubled in value during the last six or seven years. Another edition, with all the coloured plates, was published by Routledge in 1874, and there is also an edition of 1857 with coloured frontispiece and vignette title.—ED.]
