Thon, O Grave, canst not enthral us!

This shall calm our trembling breath,
When we pass its gloomy portal.

Jesus lives! For us He died:
Then alone to Jesus living;

Pure in heart may we abide,

PRAYER.

THE BELIEVER'S TRUST AND CONFIDENCE IN GOD.

O Lord God, gracious and merciful Father! Who hast said "I will never leave Thee, nor forsake Thee," we call upon Thee who art worthy to be praised: we offer to our God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. As for us, we will call upon God, and the Lord shall save us: evening and morning, and at noon will we pray and cry aloud, and He shall hear our voice. We do not present our supplications before Thee, O Lord, trusting in any righteousness of ours: but, for Thy great mercies, O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do: defer not, for Thine own sake, O our God. O Lord, our hearts rejoice in Thee, because we have trusted in Thy Holy Name. Thou art our salvation and our glory, our refuge, and the rock of our strength,-our defence and our King. Though our flesh and our hearts may fail; yet Thou art the strength of our hearts, and our portion for ever. Lord, redeem the souls of Thy servants, for none that trust in Thee shall be desolate.

AMEN.
