Disregard the previous reviewer. Non-consensual sex is vastly different from homosexuality and should not be conflated with it. The author has clearly linked their sources, so the accusations of 'made-up' data are false. It takes an anthropologist, and not a tourist, to keenly observe and realize the different genders, roles, and structure of a tribe. There is nothing rational about advocating for the maltreatment of homosexuals. The previous reviewer has carefully hand-picked sources that fits their narrative, and has yet to prove how non-consensual sex and sex are one and the same. The author is labeled a "biased gay", as if he had no right to defend himself and the premise.
The desire to control people is a personality disorder, and should be treated as such.

I think this whole book is like the Kinsey Institute- a bunch of things written by a few illegal child raping homosexuals. One proof is this book's written by a gay. He uses a few "facts" by Catholic Missionaries who never said they do sodomy. No they called them reverse witches which is perfect if your job's a missionary- so go figure. I never heard any of these works quoted anywhere else before and I've read every book in the library and seen every video ever made on foreign tribal cultures. The first missionary to the Yanomami was a homo who raped the boys anally. There was no history of that ever in their tribe for them to even describe it. I'm also part Sami and Native American and I actually traveled the U.S. and went to all their museums and cultural places I could find and there was never one gay person in any tribe. The old men would help with the nursing and actually made milk. That's not gay. I really resent this book and it's biased homosexual author. He gives no quotations and is making this all up.
