Dear Friends and Brethren,

If fuch strictness in judgement was required of the Ifraelites under the old law, how inexcufable muft we Christians be, if we are remifs on fuch folemn occafions, feeing that we have obtained (by much additional revelation) not only a most valuable increase of knowledge, but also an abfolute promife of the Divine affistance, if we ask it as we ought; and the more especially as we are alfo affured that "the Saints fhall judge the world;" that

A fhort form of MORNING PRAYER for a COMMUNITY of FREE LABOURERS and HUSBANDMEN, or for a PRIVATE FAMILY.

As a means of preparing and properly difpofing the minds of a congregation for prayer, the minifter may previously defire their attention to a short exhortation or instruction, drawn up as nearly in the words of Scripture, as the subject he shall fix upon will permit, and with as much brevity as poffible. The following exhortation will take up about four minutes, which is too long, perhaps, for a DAILY exhortation; and, indeed, the fame exhortation DAILY ufed, would not be at all efficacious; and therefore this is only defigned to be occafionally read at the minister's difcretion, when he thinks time can be spared, and when the people may feem to ftand in need of being reminded of the most effential objects of prayer, and the true means of obtaining

them.
